Dwayne Carter Jr, known as Lil' Wayne, is a Grammy award winning rapper and hip-hop icon from New Orleans, Louisiana.  This piece is extra special to me because I grew up from early adolescence listening to his music. Being born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi meant I was raised very closely to the culture and traditional customs of New Orleans, giving me an added sense of closeness to Lil' Wayne and his music.   I brought this special piece with me to the "Lil' Wayne: Tha Carter VI Celebrating 20+ years of Carter Classics" concert to celebrate the legend himself.
